I am using the 305 for the first time and I am trying to store a course generated through bikeroutetoaster. It is a 40 mile course that has less than 100 course (way) points. However, GTC is telling me it requires 170% of capacity of the device. That seems unreasonable to me.

Since this is a new to me device, I wonder if there are things in the there using the memory. But I have tried a hard reset and it still doesn't help.

Hmm.., Are there other routes/courses already in the device hogging up memory? You can check this by seeing (on the device) if there are existing courses/routes - and delete them if needed.There is a check box on the settings section of the bikeroutetoaster site to turn on/off detailed directions. I don't know how much of a difference that will make. Can you download the gpx file and see what is the size of that file?

Thanks for the response. It was a user error - the route I generated had more than 100 way points. I just thought that they were track points.
