Introductions - Greetings from Manhattan, KS - The Little Apple

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I bought a Bianchi Timberwolf (an entry-level mountain bike) back in 1994 to ride to class in grad school, but rarely used it after that. Last spring I had it tuned up for a 20-mile ride with some friends who talked me into it, and I've been hooked ever since. Instead of going to the gym for exercise, I've been bicycling about an hour every day, sometimes up to 2.5 hours on weekends, and I love it. The only problem is that my bike really wasn't designed for that kind of use. I'm lucky if I can average 15-16 mph during my rides, so I'm in the market for a new one that's better suited for my needs. Hopefully I'll get some advice in the forums.

Welcome to Bike Forums. What kind of bike are you looking for, road, CX, singlespeed?

If you get addicted to cycling, you might find that it's more expensive than a monthly gym membership. :P
