I cycle commute to the bus stop and then ride the bus to work. The last few mornings I spotted a bright tail light blinking far ahead. It's the brightest tail light I remember seeing. We pass this cyclist far from my home so it's not likely I will ever be able to ask him the brand.

The light has a distinctive Y shape to it, with a bright LED at the end of each leg of the Y.

Anyone know what light this is?

Is it possible that you're actually seeing a bike that has two tail lights? You said it was "far ahead."

The second sticky thread in this section of the forums is about home-brewed lights....maybe you were seeing someone's one-off creation?

I've seen at least one like this. Why not ask when you pass him/her?

The thing sure is bright.

Sorry, I missunderstood, I thought you were on your bike and I was like "wtf?".

...maybe if you time it just right, you could yell out the window?

Could it be the Dinotte 400R?

There were at one time some triangular shaped lights that were pretty bright and popular. Large. Came in red, amber, blue, and green, if I remember. Wanted one. Or two.

Blackburn Mars 2.0?

closest to a "Y" that I can think of.

Fits the description apart from the bit about it being bright.
Though it is a wide beam.

I've never seen a flux capacitor used in that way but I guess you could use it for a tail light also.

Sorry I really have nothing of value to add.
