Introductions - Greetings and Salutations from New Orleans

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey there. Vincent here. Been posted a bit here and there on the forums, but figure I'd go ahead and post the obligatory Introduction. I'm 29 and live in the hot and muggy city of New Orleans, LA. I currently have a old cruiser of indeterminate origion that I built at our local bike recycle program. Before two months ago I knew absolutely nothing about bikes, now I'm starting on my second project! It's another oldy but goodie: a nice blue Dunelt that I believe is pre-Raleigeh. As soon as I can borrow a digital camera, I will take some pictures of my babies. :)

Local bike recycle program? That sounds cool! Why don't we have something like that? Take pics, and tell us about your tropical adventures on them.

Yeah, ours is called Plan B (http://planb.bikeproject.org). A few other cites have something similar. I quick google search for Minneapolis Bike Project found this: The Sibley Bike Depot (http://www.bikeped.org/Depot.html) in St. Paul. It looks like a $25 donation gets you access to their public repair shop. It sounds a lot like Plan B. :)

St. Paul? Do you realize that that's way over across the Mississippi, in another county, almost another dimension? Seriously, I looked at the site, and think that I might go over there sometime after the milkcarton boat races. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the prospect of making a lakeworthy vessel.
Thanks for the info.
