1980's 12 speed bike from peugeot, seller is asking $200.
i can call the guy and get the model/serial if needed.

I've seen them go for $380 on local CL. But $150 would be good deal if it's in good shape.

hey, so i think it might be a PX-10, which would make it somewhat valuable. i just saw a px-10 frame go on ebay for $325.

I think you'd better get your offer in pronto. Nothing's worse than doing laborious research, getting more excited by the minute, realizing that this is indeed exactly the bike for you...only to find out it's already gone when you finally make your move. Remember, you're probably not the only one thinking these thoughts....

Good luck! For what that one picture can tell, it looks like a nice bike.

Unfortunately some people leave their CL listings up long after they've sold the item. Just to rub it in I guess, or maybe they like getting 'is it still available?' emails.

The bike your interested in may be an '88 model. This is the '87 version of what I think your looking at but in blue:

I sold a white PH501 2 weeks ago for asking price of $260. I could have sold 10 of them if I had them since there were 4 people waiting to buy it. I may have undervalued it a bit.

The bike in the OP's post may be a PGN10. I just picked up one of those and it is dark gray metallic with the orange/yellow stripes. It has lesser components than the PH501. Those white Stronglight cranks were pretty.

dutchmorphology, you need to find out the components and if they are stock then you should know what it is.
I picked up the PGN10 for $100 but it was REALLY dirty.

If all the components match something in the catalog then you should have the answer as to what it is. Unless everything has been changed or upgraded.

Each level of bike has the appropriate level of components. An entry level bike has entry level components while a high end bike has high end components.

In this particular instance its relatively easy for me to narrow down the model without knowing many details. Peugeot only made a few models with a fully chromed fork and blue paint.
