I got my new Look 386 last month and I have put about 250 miles on it. I have started getting pain behind my right knee. I lowered my seat about one inch over the past four rides, but it has not helped.

Any suggestions? I was thinking about making an appointment with a professional bike fitter.

Thanks for the help.

did you also get new pedals with the new bike? when lowering your seat, do this in small increments. 1 inch is too much at one time to lower. focal ice should alleviate some of the discomfort >> lowering a smidge (highly technical term) and icing afterwards (residual pain from prior fit) and you'll eventually find your fit. when you do, mark it with a piece of electrical tape wrapped around the seatpost so you can find it again if you ever have to take off the post.

i'd also look into the fore and aft position of the pedals, especially if you've been pedaling in some rolling hills.

i would get fitted by someone that knows something about fit and biomechanics. i had knee pain about 5 years ago...got fitted and they realigned my cleats. my heel rubs the cranks, but I don't have knee pain. :)

what exactly do you mean behind your right knee? If it feels like the hamstring area, or between hamstring/calf, then yeah, lower the saddle. but if you mean just behind the kneecap, that's the front of your knee, and you should _raise_ your saddle.
