i haven't clicked n the skinny arms thread because it sounds like a silly silly thread, but it has got so many posts now i'm wondering if i'm missing something good.

You really don't have anything better to do, do you?

And I actually have an excellent sense of humor. I would hope that someone with Marcel Duchamp as an avatar would think a little farther outside that little, rigid box you seem to be stuck inside.

Oh, and you should listen to some Fugazi. Epic band.

Eh, "emo" and what Fugazi were associated with are functionally waaaaaaaaaay far apart, regardless of theory and the whole emo term. I dare someone to try to make a good case that Ian MacKaye and any of the peckerwoods from Dashboard Confessional have anything in common.

EDIT: funny picture, etc

That's kind of the point. It's a stupid thread. I'd prefer to make it as obviously unnecessary as possible.

If more of you would put a certain old-yet-terribly-immature idiot on your ignore list you'd be much happier and the general mood, behavior, and usefulness of the subforum would skyrocket.

I did and at this point I can't even follow most of the threads that are either totally pointless OR would anger me if I could read them.

Guy Piccotto, who is in Fugazi, was in Rites of Spring, which started emotive hardcore.

It looks like you get to listen to dashboard confessionals now.

And Jawbreaker, another killer band, could technically be seen as a emo. Doesn't change the fact they have nothing to do with the MTV garbage that is now called emo.

...I may have them confused with Gorilla Biscuits? I am also old and out of the loop...as far as Mackaye being a hypocrite, I have friends who saw him 'having a little fun' back in the 80's. My gf loves Minor Threat, Ive always been sort of impartial.
