Went to my LBS outside Iwakuni Japan today and asked the guy if he could get a Trek 520. They don't show in the Asian catalog at all but he told me he was going to some dealers meeting in a week or two and if there was one to be had he could get it there.

I'll know in a couple weeks whether I was lucky or not. If I can't get a 520 I'm going to have to rethink my whole plan however it probably won't matter. My wife is gonna kill me when I bring home another bike.

Or go grocery shopping 80 miles away. If that's the case, you'll want a Brooke saddle, some Dinotte lighting and Ortlieb panniers. Really, the bike is only a small component of the overall cost... ;)
