Northeast - Flat on LIE today

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Helped out a guy on the side of the Long Island Expressway with 3 flat tubes, near Deer Park. Helped him out and went on my merry way.
Three flat tubes?
Meaning:
1. he had a tricycle with three flats? :D
2. he had a bicycle but flatted one tire and discovered that the 2 spare tubes that he carried were also punctured?
3. he had a bicycle but flatted both tires and discovered that the 1 spare tube that he carried was also punctured?
4. you gave him three flat tubes. :D

Makes me think of a guy right by the Little Red Lighthouse who didn't need my offered help fixing a flat... who had a very interesting looking bike. It was a trike with a mesh seat like a lawn chair and probably ridden like a recumbent.
I once did stop to help someone in CP; she said she was trying to put in a second tube, but even that one didn't seem to be holding air. I have zero experience with bike tires and installing tubes, BUT I have done that a few times with motorcycle tires/tubes, so I know the principles.

Rode up to him, and he had three flat tubes on the ground like dead snakes. Wasn't quick to give the information, but 1st was a pinched flat, his spare wasn't holding air, and he had gotten gotten a tube from another cyclist earlier that I guess he ended up pinching. Was an experienced cyclist, but not sure about tube changing/flat repairing skills. So helped out with the fourth tube to be sure the rider got on his way.
