Commuting - Sincere Thanks to the Red Dodge Ram

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Today I was on a long ride (well long for me) and ran out of water. Still pretty warm here in NC, so towards the end of my ride was hurting pretty bad. Decided to pull over to the side of the road to rest. Guy in a Dodge Ram went by tried to stop but couldn't because of traffic. Yelled asking if I was ok, I gave him a big thumbs up, "just needing the rest" I yelled. I was out in the boonies, so there was no easy place to turn around, he went miles out of his way to circle back around to check on me. I was back on the bike by this point, but saw him coming so I pulled over. He then extended a Gatorade and said "this will help you up this hill!" It was much welcome as I was out of water. I know he will never read this thread, but I wanted to post it and tell him "Thanks from a thirsty guy on a bike".

Cool, unless this guy keeps turning up on your rides handing you free stuff all the time.

HA, nope purple with the seal intact. I checked before drinking. Seemed like an up and up guy, but still.
And who said all cagers were bad?
I did. I'm sure the guy in the truck went home and kicked his dog. :D
How dare he presume to offer charity to you, the obviously superior being? How dare you thank him?

Kicking the dog doesn't make him bad. :D
Cool. I'd guess he was a biker himself, but if he wasn't thats more impressive.

Impossible to know since I did not directly ask him, but he didn't seem to be a biker (again pure speculation).
