Today was the long awaited Oregon Clyde Ride. I questioned my sanity as I looked at my window this morning knowing I was going to be riding in the "Oregon sunshine" that most people call rain. Still, I was excited to get to ride with some of the Clyde forum members and it was well worth getting wet to ride with them. The planned route took us a little over 40 miles with about 1200-1300 feet of elevation gain. So, here are some pictures from our little escapade.

Here is forum members Tim (timmythology), Greg (Greg R) and Chuck (takingcontrol)

...and their fearful leader, Jeff aka Hill-Pumper

This is Tim and Greg finishing off the top of one of the bigger hills that we did for the day.

Chuck made it up just fine too!!!!

Mrs. Hill-Pumper provided the goodies for our first rest stop along the bank of the Willamette River.

The ride took us over the Willamette using the Buena Vista Ferry.

Just some nice scenery along the way at the Ankeny Wildlife Refuge.

I had a GREAT time riding with the fellow Clydes, and I think everyone else enjoyed themselves too. With some luck, we will do it again!!!!

I don't know about determined :p I was just having fun. This ride was a blast and I enjoyed riding with fellow clydes. The rain wasn't bad really just wet...very wet. I can't wait to see fellow members on the 27th peach ride.

Determination and fun aren't mutually exclusive. :thumb:

BTW, you don't look 400 pounds in the photos. Your ticker need to be updated.

It was a great time, despite the weather (which actually cleared up for the final hour or so of the ride). Jeff mapped out a beautiful Clyde-friendly route that was just challenging enough. I am extremely glad that I decided to pick up a pair of leg warmers for the ride. I think my legs would have frozen if I didn't have those! Special thanks goes to Mrs. Hill-Pumper for showing up with food & water near the half way point of the ride.

Tim, Here are the gear ratios on my LHT bike (you were asking about them during the ride):
Front: 48-36-26t
Rear: 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-34

Hope to see everyone again at the next ride...
