What different between MTB seatpost and Road bicycle seatpost? Can i use Road bicycle seatpost for MTB?

Length is the biggest difference. Road seatposts tend to be 250mm in length or shorter, and MTB seatposts tend to be 350mm or longer.

Doesn't the length of seatpost depend on the inside leg? I am confused. 250mm seatpost may not fit some tall guys ?

True. But usually, on most road bikes, if you need a post longer than 250mm, then you should be on a larger frame size. There are exceptions on occasion.

Sometimes the hardware on a road post is a bit more delicate. I briefly had a Bianchi road post on one of my MTBs (it was a takeoff and available in the odd size I needed). It self-destructed in one weekend of DH racing.

some road seatposts can't move or angle as much as mtb seatpost due to the geometry differences.

Plain type seems to be more durable.
