including the things you've bolted to it?

My Surly CC weighs in @31Lbs.
Does it matter?

I sure wish you hadn't asked this one - with panniers empty, trunk full, full water bottles, lights and sirens - 54# - the way it's usually ridden. #With a full load of groceries, considerably more.

This, for an '08, 61cm, Specialized Crosstrail....

I think that this specification, is something I really didn't want to know..........

About a metric ton! My trunk bag is loaded with tools, patch kit, pump, two u-locks and one cable. It also contains gloves, cash and other stuff.

Good point about the frame size.
My Surly is 58cm.

The 31lb weight I cited doesn't include the plethora of tools, bags & refreshments usually included on every outing; just the bike itself along with what I've bolted or clamped (saddle, pedals, lights, racks, bells etc) to the frame.

As ridden on a typical day, with bags, lock, tools, 2 full bottles, rain gear, fenders, pump, etc...42#

19.5" Jamis Coda

(this number was only 2# more than I had guessed)

The last time I weighed the Trek it was 27 pounds... with my usual gear the weight goes up to around 40 as I carry a decent tool kit, several locks, water, pump, and my rain gear.

My old Rudge roadster starts out at 38 pounds before anything else goes on...

A metric ****ton, I don't know the actual poundage but I can barely pick it up fully loaded. Size 19 Asama "Luddite" steel hybrid.

My lightest current hybrid is my '04 Pt Reyes @23lbs 10oz(18.5" I think). I've had a Fuji Absolute and Marin Fairfax that were both lighter though. Heaviest is my '05 60cm Dew Deluxe @28lbs 7oz.

just wondering how do you guys weight your bikes? I always wanted too. But I don't think my bike will fit within the space of my bathroom scale.

Take your bathroom scale to the bike. ;)
'97 Trek 730 weighing in at 34# including racks, bags, etc. Frame size... 21"? don't recall offhand and I'm too tired to walk to the garage.

Weigh yourself on the scale. Then weigh yourself on the scale while holding your bike off the ground. Subtract your combined weight from your own weight without the bike.

Combined Weight - Your Weight = Bike Weight

I weigh 163. Holding my bike the scale reads 203. Thus my bike ('08 Diamondback Wildwood Citi) with rack, bell, & lights = 40 lbs. 203 - 163 = 40

^ genius! =P

but i dont have a scale in my apt and use the scale in my gym... does that mean i should take my bike to the gym, roll it thru the weight room and into the locker room and weight me + bike?

:D

If they let you sure!

I'd be curious what the 7.7 FX weighs. Or any of the FX's for that matter.

Ooorrrrrrrrr.....you can do what I do. Picked up a digital fish scale that goes to 50lbs and also reads metric. Also nice for weighing things like components and tires. Found out that switching from Specialized Crosstrails to Marathon Supremes dumped like 1.25lbs of weight off my bike.

Medium sized 2006 Cannondale Road Warrior ... with a Brooks B17N saddle, Acorn 2-strap roll bag, two bottle cages with full water bottles...slightly less than 24 lbs. Weighed on an Ultimate (now Feedback Sports) hanging scale.

I'd be curious what the 7.7 FX weighs. Or any of the FX's for that matter.

With stock components, my 7.5FX weighed 23.43 lbs.

With some modifications it was 21.22 lbs.

With new wheels and tires I believe it is <20 but I haven't taken it to the lbs to get weighed.

My 2004 Diamondback Wildwood with luggage rack weighs 37 lbs. Moving to a Trek FX this winter. Nice to see it's almost 10 lbs. lighter.

I did the stand on the scale without bike, then stand on it with bike. According to that test my bike is right around 20lbs.

My 2008 large sized Giant Cypress comes in at 38 Lbs with a rear Explorer rack and a hardcase pannier.

It is too heavy for faster riding, but that's not what it's for.

I can get it to 25.5 lbs by simply changing the tires but other than that, the weight is only going to go up.

Not a clue what mine weighs. Does anyone know what the stock 7.2 FX weighs in a 22.5"

2013 Trek 7.2 FX
22.5"

Real life weight? Usually ridden daily with...

Fenders
Rear rack
Bar-ends
Front and rear lights
Cateye Velo 5
Small frame pump
2 full water bottles
Saddle bag with tool, tube etc
Cable lock
1 pannier with clothing/lunch

And of course me, who should drop another 5-7 pounds

Its is what it is. It feels light and fast enough to me. A great commuter, comfortable when loaded, geared right for hills. My typical commute one way is 30 miles. I replaced the saddle and love my long rides.

My 2012 Trek 7.4FX (17.5" frame) weighed 24.6 lbs with no add ons. Of course with the added saddlebag, containing a spare tube, tire leavers and multi-tool, along with a bike lock and of course water bottle, the "riding weight" is likely around 30 lbs.

Best regards

I had a 2007 20" 7.2 and although I never actually weighed it, I lifted it and my other bike (weighed 27-28 lbs) side by side for comparison and the FX felt slightly heavier.

I have a '03 Trek 7500FX. 19.5" (I think) and weighs about 30 pounds with saddle bag full of tubes, mini tool etc. Also includes two water bottles, mirror, lights and cyclometer.

In contrast I have a 55cm ’12 Jamis Quest. My guess is it weighs about 9 pounds less with similar attachments.

How do you weigh your bicycle? I just checked the manufacturer website of my bike and it doesn't list the stock weight any where.

Means nothing, I never need to jump off, pick it up, run with it... and jump over an occasional barrier with it.
