Introductions - Hi

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi
Iwould like to introduce myself.
I'm a 61 year old beginning rider, only the second bike I ever owned. The other was a three speed that never worked.
I was running to stay in shape after I retired but back problems forced me into something else and cycling seem to be the thing. I have been lurking on this forum for a long time and now have a few questions but will put them in the right section.
I call home the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, live on flat land now but lots of hills(mountians) close by. Learned to ride on a road with a 16% grade going home so never rode to far.

Pretty country! My son and I enjoyed our biking around the Hope/Harrison Lake area last summer.

Welcome to BikeForums. Glad you finally decided to stop "lurking" and join us.

I have several "older" friends who have given up running for similar reasons. Sorry to say that I haven't been able to persuade them to take up cycling. :(
