after my wonderful crash on the full rigid (!) and realizing i want to jump into the FS/DS game (not for all rides, but want to expand the choices as i discover more trails), what would be a good, no, great 1st full-suspension?

i've had my eye on the Recoil (low-end and Comp), but for what it IS, what else compares and, perhaps, exceeds it in performance and value?

somehow deleted an updated response. no matter. seems like a dumb question now after checking with a friend who does xc races and gave me a solid suggestion. forget the recoil and spend a wise extra $600

oh to just forget worrying about FS bikes in that price range...and shoot for something twice the amount...of course, no exact models mentioned (yet).

but still, figured the smarties here might jump in and reply to the now pointless inquiry...

might just go to my LBS and let them pull out the red carpet when i have cash in hand...
