For those that don't know, former forum member, Sydney -- real name, Jim Price, aka Bourdreaux -- was hit and killed while riding by a driver who was texting on a mobile phone.

Seems there's been more public awareness campaigns about texting while driving recently (that graphic UK ad comes to mind). Hope it all has some effect, but I fear sydney's death won't be enough :(

One of the horrific accidents they tend to mention when this issue comes up is from here - 5 girls in a car, day after graduation - driver was texting the car in back of them - also a group of their friends, when she went head first into a truck. None survived. Sad day for the community.
