I was planning on order an 08 Mavic Aksium wheelset and was wondering if that will be compatible with my Shimano 105 (FH-1056) cassette.
I'd hate to order the wheels and have to return them.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Uh, you should know if you ordered it. There's campy or shimano freehub option.

ok so if I get the shimano compatible wheelset (as opposed to the Campagnolo) it should be compatible, correct?
I haven't ordered it yet since on nashbar.com it says it is Shimano 9/10 speed compatible and I have 8 speeds.

8/9/10 works on the same freehub for shimano with (*ahem* one exception). So yes, it'll work. Go ride your bike.

nice, thanks.
I just ordered it. May I ask what that one exception is? If so, what is that one exception?:)
