Anybody have experience with the Super Saddle? I think you can only get it direct from:

http://www.abs-sports.com/

A guy on a non-bike forum said he had one and thought it was great, but I'd like more opnions.

I think there's a good reason why the manufacturer does not have any retailers signed up. I'll stick with my old fashioned Brooks saddles.

if you adjust your seat correctly and use a firm seat, you won't put a ton of weight on your perineum.

No more butt sore for me! Rans makes an awesome seat (on my 'bent).

One may think that a Brooks is pricey, butt (pun intended) you'll find that they are worth it. I haven't met a Brooks rider that wished he had something else!

I have not heard a good thing about these saddles. I also rememeber a guy who worked in a bike shop who posted on the forums about a year or two ago about this product. He argued about how uncomfortable the saddle actually made you feel, and then he ended by saying that every person who bought that saddle from his shop returned it. He couldn't recall one person who actually bought it and kept it, so that should tell you something right there!

Know why there's so many saddles out there? It's because somebody just LOVES every single blessed one of them but none of them (even Brooks) can suit everybody. I think that it's pretty much hunt and peck until you find one that matches your tushie and riding style. If you don't know where to start, I think that you're more likely to be successfull trying one of the more common saddles that lots of people use than something wierd.

That would be sweet since I am in the saddle market my self. I cannot find one to save my ass :)

Flite and San Marco don't do it for me and I aint puttin a Bricks on my racing bike. My LBS has a return policy on saddles such that if you don't like it after so many days bring it back and try another one. That's what I am gonna do starting with the Fisik aireon (spelling?)

Actually, it may not be that big in practice. I was reading something from Sheldon and he said that a lot of those saddles with even a complete opening pretty much close up when sat upon (which he said you could tell if you looked up from the bottom when someone sat on it). So, perhaps if you have one that seems to wide to start with, when weight is applied it might be fine.

Just a theory.

I have a B17 and a Team Pro and I wish I had something else, seriously. I wish I had
a B17 Swallow (sorry I won't pay $400 for a saddle, limited edition or not!).

Regarding a "custom" saddle...because of a broken hip, I sit with one side slightly lower than the other. Although I can comfortably ride other quality saddles like my Koobi Enduro Gel, once broken in my Brooks actually has one side lower than the other. Talk about custom for my bottom!
That B17 Swallow would probably look nice on jfmckenna's racer.
As for seats with donut holes (I had one), my personnal exprience taught me that I did much better by raising the handle bars about level to the seat.

It's been a year since this thread was updated. Does anyone have any experience with this saddle? ABS is still in business. I am looking for a replacement seat that will help with numbness in the extremities while riding. I ride in a completely upright position and after about 2 miles, I am numb. A friend of mine swears by his Super Saddle, but I can't find any experienced opinions on this site. Any other recommendations?

Thank you for the evaluation, Raiyn. What is "crap" about it? What didn't you like when you tried it out?

Thanks for any help

Thank you for that link. That is very helpful. Still, if anyone has any acual experience with the ABS Super Saddle, please let me know. Either post here, or PM me. If not, then we can probably put this thread away for another year.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Too much curve, then try a Colt, B17 Narrow, or one of the wider models like the B72 or B67. http://www.permaco.com/ still has some Colts, BTW.

Fleet, I think you should go ahead and try the saddle. They have a 30-day return policy, and I think you'd be able to tell if it works for you or not. I like Brooks, but there are people out there that don't. Basically, everyone has to find their own saddle... and if this works for you, I'm glad.
