This all started from me adding bar ends to my Dahon Mu P8. The allen head bolt stripped on the grip shifter and I ended up ez-outing it. In the process I boned up the threads.

No sweat. They're like $10.

Ordered one from Amazon or something and it is numbered for a rapid rise shifter.

In short gear 8 is really gear 1 and vice versa. I've got no beef with this but if I ever want to sell the bike I probably should change it. Also I have a labelmaker and can probably make a very professional looking label that overlays the screen printing

Anybody know where to get a grip shifter for a Dahon that isn't rapid rise and follows the correct number pattern?
