I was wanting to get a wheel set built for my 2005 Specialized Hardrock comp disc. I planned on getting the Shimano Alfine IGH. I am wanting disc brakes as well. I am going to run tires no smaller than 26x1.5 and no bigger than 26x2.2. I was wondering what would be a great rim for my situation. Since width is supposedly important when your riding on studs in the snow/ice. A recommendation on where i could get it built online would be great as well. thanks

Per ISO/ETRTO rim recommendations you want about a 25mm internal width rim theoretically. It looks to me like the Rhyno Lite or Rhyno Lite XL should be good candidates. Some rim makers such as Mavic list narrower rims as acceptable for 2" tires. What is the internal width of your current rims?

Harris Cyclery is not the cheapest but is supposed to be good and apparently does a lot of custom IGH wheels. Any decent LBS should be able to do the job though.
