Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Fenders on a Windsor Hour: suggestions?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. The main difficulties i'm finding about mounting fenders on my windsor hour are:
a) There isn't a chainstay bridge with a "kickstand mount?"
b) the fork has no eyelets for mounting anything.
c) Even with 700-23 tires, I'm not getting a lot of clearence on the back.
It is drilled for front and rear brakes however, and I'm wondering if anybody has got some experience with fenders that'll work with this bike. I'm willing to change my fork to one with eyelets, and I DON'T want a seatpost fender for the rear.
Permanent clean, or temp on and off fenders?
Quite a few fenders and examples on the Townies thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=286515
SKS Raceblade maybe for off and on, temp fenders: http://www.sks-germany.com/sks.php?l=en&a=product&i=5288300000

Definetely looking for permanent and clean. I saw some nice ones on the linked thread, but the brand of the fender was rarely associated with the image.
I did a set of cheap Planet Bike fenders on my old Pake. It to had no eyelets. I drilled two holes in the rear and ziptied it to the seat tube because that frame didnt have a kickstand bridge either. To mound the struts, I used rubber lined P clamps I got from the hardware store. Did that for both the front and back.
Hope this helps ya out.
Some nice polished ones here at Velo-Orange:
Planetbike has a line of fenders, scroll down for the Road ones...
A lot of people use P-clamps where eyelets are not an option, but as for a fender that normally mounts to the kickstand bridge, I suppose using Deshi's method would work best.
Given that, your options should open up a little bit.
Take, for example, the SKS fenders (like the ones posted above, but in full, and permanent, so to speak).
