I have been looking for a trailer to use for my 3yr old. I looked at the "cheap" trailers ($100-$170) available at discount stores and was not happy at all with the hitches (it looks like there is no rotation allowed at all so if I bank a curve, the trailer banks too?). So I started trolling eBay for a used Burley. They tend to end at ~$200 and up. My LBS sells the Burley Bee for $199. So, I am wondering if the fewer features available on the Bee (no recessed area for helmets), can't be turned into a stroller, fewer storage pockets, narrower interior space, etc are really that big of a deal.
We will probably be doing 10-30 mile trips 2-3 times per week with a few shorty (5-10mile) trips in the evenings. We tried a trailer cycle and she can't even reach the pedals so that's at least a year away.
So, has anyone used the Burley Bee? I don't care that it can't be turned into a stroller, we'll probably never have more than one trailer-age child at a time so interior width shouldn't matter. I guess the only issue is storage pockets but I should be able to fit a small backpack or something in the trailer with her right? Thanks in advance.
