Did you guys see the crash right at the end of Stage 1? It's kinda blurry on youtube, but it looks like one of the Bissell guys who was leading out the 2nd group to the line didn't notice a Cervelo guy who was just cruising to the finish and slammed right into him at very high speed. Pretty violent looking crash from what it looks like. Hoping I can catch at least one of these stages. I guess Vandevelde broke a bone his hand during the crash but is planning on continuing the race.

ugh after watching it on Versus it looks like he wasn't realizing he was sitting up...if your going to sit up why be in the middle of the road where the rest of the peloton is going to scream through?

I only saw 2 guys go down...VdV went down in that crash? he was that far back?

Apparently. Bad luck for him though he should be more at the front and could have avoided this one.
