Electric Bikes - more oomphh!!

Hi everyone, im new to electric bikes and since losing my licence see them has the only alternative for somebody as lazy as me.:)
I've recently purchased a 250watt brushless motor and 48v lithium kit form juicy bikes.com and would like to know if anyone knows how to get a bit more top speed out of them.
Im well aware of the uk laws and realise i will be sticking my neck out for an extra few mph's, but the current speed of my bike is really easy to over ride.
By the way-the bike is a pedelec.

Given the number of publicly-placed closed circuit cameras in the UK, are you sure you want to modify your bike? The police there have the ability to monitor your activities very closely. Why not ride your bike as is for a while. You could always get more powerful batteries, that might give you slightly faster speeds. If you want a lot faster, you'd probably have to invest some money in upgrading your system, if you can even get parts legally, which may be your biggest challenge since you live in the EU. Personally, I pedal most of the time and don't like going over 20 MPH, but then I live in a area where there are lots of large wildlife that can dart out in front of you at anytime.

Your kit is limited by the 48v/250w setup. Find out if its the same motor used for the higher kits. Your controler limits the power. If its the same motor but only the 250w controler you are looking at best an upgrade to the 600ish watt controler. Higher then that you have to check your ratings because moving to the 800-1000w range will burn your motor if not rated for it. Besides the above your 10ah battery is not going to supply the power needed to break the 600w barrier.

A 48v/1000w kit will take most people to 30mph at 260 pounds on a 26inch rim. Sounds like your best bet is a bigger controler or almost 1000$ in parts.
