Mountain Biking - Manitou Swinger

Right now I am thinking of selling my bikes to finance a new bike. The bike is a 2003 Giant AC2 and I could possible get it for $2100 CDN which i think is amazing. (correct me if i am wrong)

But I wanted to get some insight on the MAnitou Swinger thats in the rear.

This is the coil version with the air reservoir but if youve tried either air or coil, I would love your opinion. IVe personally never tried a SPV rear shock so this would be a new experience.

So a few more quick quesitons....

Whats the difference between the 4 way and the 6 way?
And lastly when was the first year of production for the swinger?

Definately a good price.

SPV has its ups and downs. It helps on pedalling but take away from the small bump sensativity. Making small bumps feel harsh. But that is kind of the sacrifice for good pedalling.

The biggest different between them is the engineering degree required. The 4 way has external prload, rebound, Pedaling platform threshold (SPV basically) and Volume adjustments (changes the progressiveness of the shock). If you compare this to a Fox RC you have both adjustments of the fox plus and progressiveness adjust and the SPV. Now take the 6way which requires a degree you add high and low speed compression adjust. All of this stuff is just fancy terms for how the suspension reacts going down, coming up and all sections in between and how fast you want. Hope that helps...cause I think I confused myself :D

Awesome! I couldn't find this page when I was scrolling through.

THe only reason they are selling it at this price is becasue there is a new owner at the shop and hes only stocking 500-1000 dollar bikes and this is the last of the best.

Now i am gonna pay my shop anotehr visit. Hope she is still there ;)

HAhaha they also have a 2002 AC 1 for $2800 but they are really flexible. It retailed at almost 4 g's?

I am not a real fan of ac's. good bike for light riders but they do have flex. :)...

Light riders as in me. Ive been trying to put on some weight but i can't top 130 on the scale. So basically the 20 mm axel is over killing it for me.

Definately :)...but definately a decent bike for all round riding :D
