Would you, or do you, trust a CF rigid fork? I've searched this forum and didn't find anything definite.

Oh I probably would trust one. But since I have little interest in rigid forks at all, I likely would never own one.

No...I havea CNT bar (not Carbon Fiber weave)...it's taking me a long time to develop trust in it...but I just can't fathom riding a carbon fiber fork.

Depends on what you plan on doing with it. For riding XC, sure.

I have seen people bomb some serious terrain with them.

**** that would make you scratch your head in disbelief if you hadn't just seen it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmN9jQwtwHg)

I've got ebay CF forks on two of my bikes. One's a commuter so nothing really rough on it. The other one I do take offroad into singletrack. I still cringe when I take it in gnarlly stuff but so far, it's held up. *knock on wood*

I still can't believe we used to ride off house roofs on our BMX bikes in the 90's - to flat. :twitchy:

I race a Bontrager carbon fork on my 29er and for XC on a rigid bike you can't beat it. Along with the attack angle of the wheel you can't beat it. In the series I race in there are a lot of rigid bikes that have CF forks. There is a lot lets vibration and feedback from CF than the stock steel fork that was on my bike when I bought it.

i would ride one, almost got one for the bike im building now just found some squish for cheaper. I have yet to see any significant failings in carbon without direct smashing which would hurt other materials also.

My Bontrager Switchblade carbon fork has held up well on my Gary Fisher Rig single speed bike. XC riding and racing. I worry more about myself making a mistake that results in a crash than my carbon fiber bike components breaking.

If the fork was property designed for the purpose I am using it for, the material of construction is not a factor for me.

I've never had a CF part fail. In possibly a related story, I have never installed a CF part that weighed significantly less than the metal part it was replacing.

a CF rigid Fork will shed +/- a pound over a rigid steel fork. The new Niner fork about 1.5 + pounds.

significant weight savings ? In the eye of the beerholder
