Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Almost.
My Surly Cross Check Cross bike. I still have to adjust the brakes and derailleurs, finish the tape job and put on pedals, other than that, it's done.
Now that I have ridden it, I feel the stem might be a bit too long. I'll see when I drive it a while.
Here are a few of the components...
Surly Cross Check frame. Stripped, primed, painted, clear coated and new decals applied.
Ultegra 6600 derailleurs
Ultegra 6503 crank
Dura Ace ST-7801 brifters
FSA Wing Pro bars
Giant Carbon stem
Alexrims R390 rims
Shimano 600 hubs
Jagwire cables
Many thanks to all members who gave an opinion or advise.

That an older frame? I like it. How are you planning to ride it? Cross, road, commute, trail, all the above?
Should give you many years of service.

I think the frame is a 2005 model. It will be my main ride, everything from light trail riding to road riding.

I noticed that when I was looking at the pics. Thanks for the heads up. Now that I am looking, I think the rear cable at the seat post is also too long.

What tires you have on there? They look interesting. Surprised you went with a carbon stem. Something you had lying around?

They are Specialized Infinity 700C x 32. I went with a carbon stem because I got a really good deal on it. I don't do any hard off roading or racing, and I love the look of carbon fiber, so I said, Why not.

I do not know the size of the frame. The tape is "Pro" tape. http://www.pro-bikegear.com/publish/content/pro_site/sbx/Pro_Landing/EN/Products.html. It is a foam tape with an adhesive on the back. If you can't find any, I'll be happy to buy it and mail it to you. It costs $14.95CDN, with shipping it should be under $20.
