An old work friend of my mother is named Gaye Fitzpatrick. Nothing funny there, but it became a problem when her ex-husband remarried another woman called Gaye. Since having two Mrs Gaye Fitzpatricks was causing some problems and confusion, my mother suggested that Gaye should go back to her maiden name.
It wasn't a problem when she was a kid back in the 50s, but the surname Barr was going to be a big problem now!

Not many to tell here. Many years ago, when my daughter started 2nd grade, her teacher was new to the profession. She was one of those exceptional teachers whom all the students and parents were glad to have. She had gotten her education at Beaver College in Pennsylvania. Her name - Miss Beaver.
A few years later, having moved to a neighboring school district, I found that one of my son's friends had her for a teacher - but now she had gotten married. Her new name - Mrs. Meaner, although everyone still loved her.

Working as a cashier for many years as a teenager back when stores took checks, I got to see so many odd names printed on customers' checks that I can't remember them all.
A few, though:
--one guy's actual last name was Dickhead.
--another guy's actual last name was ****thead.
--and a bunch of people had swear words as their last name, no kidding.
--then you had those people whose first and last names were the same, like "Dick Dick" or "Ron Ron" or "Robert Roberts," etc.
Being 16-19 years old, we were all pretty immature about it, unfortunately.

Years ago in grad school the team I was on from the philosophy dept was called the Rigid Designators. We thought it was clever and funny anyway.

A friend I know going to med school in the UK has a classmate with the last name of Pepper... that's right, he shall henceforth be known as Dr. Pepper.
Also, way back when, when I would occasionally go to work with my father at construction sites, there was a trucking concern that had the Dutch owner's name on their tandems, one John Donkersloot.
Since then that name has become a sort of universal expletive for times when mixed company may be present... everything from "I don't give a donkersloot" to "Kiss my donkersloot" to, on a particularly bad day, "Move that donkerslooting piece of donkersloot!"

My employer used to make our computer machine names that way. I used to work with a guy named Phil Hester, so his machine name was phester.

I have coworkers named Dinh Dinh and Wei May Wang.
Friends in college with the last names of Kracke, Pecter and Lipshulz. The last typically pronounced lip****s.
Went on to become a MD and changed his name because he didn't want to hear that page in the hospital.
Kracke always joked his daughters would be named Ofeelya or Likima, but they got normal names.
Had a lecturer from France named Foque or something like that. He was fresh of the plane and most of us pronounced it as FU, he would correct us but didn't seem to get the joke.
My favorite of all time was in grade school, Penelope Nichol - yesn Penny Nichol. By about 3rd grade we were calling her Six Cents. Later it was shortened to just six. She was a good vball and bball player and always wore 6 with the name Six above it instead of Nichol on the jersey.
