Introductions - Greetings from the Treasure Valley in Idaho

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

New to the forum. Used to run quite a bit, but after some old injuries caught up with me, ending in a left achilles tendon surgery, I was told that high impact activities, such as running, was an absolute no-no by my surgeon. I've biked here and there, but never really seriously till now. I picked up a Trek Hybrid last winter to get my rear can active again. Before I realized it, I found myself hooked, putting 60 - 90 miles easily on the road per week. I recently got a Specialized Allez Sport Compact Double for my birthday and I look forward every day to putting some miles on that beauty.

Looking forward to chat... ;)

Welcome to Bike Forums. I also have a Specialized Allez and a Trek hybrid. I bet you noticed quite a difference with the new road bike when going up hills.

Definitely. You don't tend to think about all the weight on a Hybrid until you ride a road bike. Still, the Trek has it's own personality. Already has a set of Armadillos on it, so I'm going to use it as my foul weather bike.

Thanks for having me on the forum. ;-)
