I know there has to be one or two that likes airpower out there..My interest with airguns began a few years back after building my daughter a bird garden..The squirrels , once a loved critter became a mortal enemy because of their constant destruction of the feeders and flowers..My interest has dropped somewhat as ive gotten back into cycling but Ive made up my mind that this Friday im gonna pull Lady Marauder out of the gun cabinet and let lead fly..

Here's the only lady I have left.. She started life as a BAM B51 and was fully tuned by Big Ed(Gary Fisher of the B51 scene).. If ya have post em !!!!!!

All my guns fire projectiles powered either by nitro based powder or by true gunpowder.

I ended up selling all I owned cept for the 6" 357 which we keep for the house..Kick myself everyday for selling my 7mm Remington Sendero and 7.62x39 Colt AR..Distance and cost pushed me out shooting till I found airgunning..

Yes it is. I like it quite a bit. It does have a bit of a thump when you fire it though.

Well, I did not plan on addressing this problem here in BF, but since we are talking airguns, I have a question for you all: I have an old pistol that shoots 22 caliber round pellets. I have looked around a bit on-line but not found a place that sells that. Any suggestions?

My wife likes birds, and has bird feeders in the back yard. The birds spill bird seed on the ground, and periodically the rats come out. When the rats come out to eat, the pellet pistol comes out to play.

It is great sport. :)

Jim,

Beeman makes all sorts of pellets.
You should be able to shoot wad cutters (flat head) or hunter (pointed nose) pellets just fine though.
WalMart actually has a decent selection of pellets.

Can't remember if I found a website for Beeman, but I will look into it.

I can't see any way this gun could shoot pellets. The breach is fed by a magazine tube over the barrel. As I look at it and think it through, the shot has to be round since it falls from the tube into the breach kind of willy-nilly.

look for lead BB's. 22 cal exist, but you might want to look into buying a mold....make your own.

and yes, OP, I have 3 air rifles. A daisy powerline 1000 (great squirrel gun, but crappy trigger), a Benjamin 397 (another great squirrel gun), and a daisy poweline 770 (shamed to admit it).

Any idea where they might exist? I suppose I could mold them myself, but I think for my level of involvement in it, I would rather just buy them.

Oh, you are talking about spherical shot and not round nose pellets.
Sorry, Jim, I haven't seen .22 BBs before.

I was wrong, round shot is what to look for, not .22 cal bb. That's brings up CB and BB caps....not what you want for an air rifle.

Thanks guys. I put some effort into a web search a few months ago, and maybe now this will rekindle my interest. But, I have a hunch that they are not out there ready-made.

Oh well, I have not molded shot since I was I kid, so I suppose its time I boned up on my post-apocalypse skills again.

Wait, these you linked to are correct, right? That is exactly what I was looking for. Cool. Once again it will be safe for gentle souls to mosey in the wild of central PA.

I too have engaged in combat with the squirrels. So far springers have done a good job knocking out thier fuseboxes as long as I do my part. Humane kills with all these weapons within 30 yards.

This thread blows................

BTW, I have a cheap, scoped Chinese break barrel, a Crossman 760 and a Daisy Buck.

I want a nice air rifle, but do not shoot enough to justify the expense.

On the other hand, for a little more than $100 you can get a Benjamin/Sheridan that is pretty serviceable.

I had one in the past. Decent, but for the price I'd rather spend a little more and get a break barrel, particularly for extensive shooting. Pumping them up constantly gets annoying.

I have an old .177 break barrel. Shot 1000's of pellets with it, but it's retired now. Also had a Gamo pistol for a while.
