Hi all,

Anyone have any info, good or bad on the Dragon E-bike? They aremade in China, but the company sell out of Canada. I just found their website and the bikes look pretty cool. I am particularly interested in the Metro, Eclipse and Strider models they are advertising.

Thanks for any info you may be able to provide.

Curt,

I've never heard of this line of e-bikes, but that's not surprising given the number of manufacturers in Asia. Doing a search on alibaba.com, it looks like these bikes may be produced by one of the subsidiaries of Anhui Machine Group. I'm not sure whether they're really building unique bikes for the Canadian distributor or simply re-branding their own line of products. If you're seriously interested, then you should check them out in person, do a test ride and get a feel for the quality of the product. FYI, if these simply are re-branded products, the basic price a wholeseller pays for the some models, without shipping, is between $300-$500 USD. Here's a link to the alibaba.com page on what appears to be the bike branded as the "Eclipse" model. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/250013024/electric_bike_700c_DTF_16/showimage.html
Here's a link to what appears to be the bike branded the "Tourismo" model.

Good luck in your search.

NWMTNBRK: Thanks for the info. I looked up the websites you suggested. Most of them are wholesalers who sell in bulk. 20-30 bikes per shipment. You are correct, the Canadian company seems to be re-branding the Chinese models for resale in Canada.

On another front, I asked this forum last week about the Kysmo electric bike. It went for $610 on Ebay plus 100 shipping. Today, another Kysmo is up for auction. Just like the one sold last week. In all my research and info from this forum, the bike seems very nice--36 V, 350 watt brushless motor, Li-ion battery--all that I am looking for. I just want a bike to commute back & forth to work (20 mi round trip, mostly a bike trail, no big hills) and for leisurely rides in the park. I am going to seriously bid for this bike. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for your help.
