Road Cycling - Ouch

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was on a road ride with my buddies..WOOHOO!! It was fun! But I lost my chain towards the end of the ride and had to stop and fix it. Well, my buddy looked behind to make sure I was ok, but at the same time the pace line leader slacked off for no reason..WHAM!!! My buddy Duke kissed the ground hard at 25 mph. He ripped a huge hole in is shorts, messed up his shifters, got terrible road rash all over his body..OUCH!! Well, the other guys(who we don't usually ride with) swarmed around him and said they were sorry and stuff like that, but I know Duke probably didn't like it, he would have rather been left alone. Knowing this I went ahead and rode solo. Well, Duke(who was very angry with the lead rider) left the other guys behind and caught up to me and said, "Let's f***in drop'em". So we did!!

This incident adds extra meaning to the phrase, "NO PAIN ... NO GAIN". ;)

Sorry to hear that, Fubar!
Duke is really tough, thats why we call hime Duke. But man, I having some sympathy pains!! It meant alot to me that he came and got me before he dropped everybody. Duke is our most experienced road rider and our Animal, I can rarely hang with him.
