I've got a ticking noise coming from my rear hub. Wheel is a Velocity Spartacus. It seems to develop after a few minutes of riding (warmed up?), and occurs when pedaling or coasting. It sounds like something on the outside of the wheel is hitting the frame with every wheel revolution. But I can assure you I've triple checked for that.....nothing is rubbing or touching--it's in the hub. So I called the tech guy at Velocity and he recommended taking apart the freehub and greasing it. He rattled off the steps in the process, but I'm not familiar with all the parts terms so I don't really remember what he was saying.
I've checked the Barnett's manuals and looked at Park Tool's FAQ.....but neither are giving me too much confidence. Any other resources out there? Can anyone tell me what special tools I will definitely have to have (ie....cone wrench?)?? Thanks in advance...
