Foo - Today..9-11

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Please keep the men and women of the world trade center tragedy in your hearts and minds...may peace and love be with them always...
Amen, brother... amen... and let's also not forget those who gave their lives at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania...

I'm gonna wear one of my USA shirts to college today, I'm an American (and Canadian) citizen.
Seems like just about everyone remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing on that day, eh?

Absolutely.
Seems just like yesterday and a thank you to all the brave men and women in all areas of service that day.

Yup I was working LAD at the Phila. Fire Museum. Sad day for all, but like they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Just to help us not forget. Here is a story about a father who lost his two sons (firemen) in the attack. There is a link at the top to hear him tell the story in his own voice.

the wiki site is too brief, does not tell his story. Christian site or not, my link tells his story.

I'm sure there's a site somewhere that's a bit less religion-based that has a more complete story.

I'm gonna wear one of my USA shirts to college today, I'm an American (and Canadian) citizen.I just realized that, for no particular reason, I'm wearing a Canadian flag shirt today.
Let's not also forget the first responders that are still suffering from the effects of the aftermath.
They didn't have to be there, they chose to help others.
So busy yesterday/today I had almost forgotten what day it was. Thanks, Lodi, for helping me to remember.

To get this thread back on a respectful track…..I thank you lodi for the reminder. I planned on spending some time today in peaceful prayer for all those who lost loved ones on that day, those who continue to suffer from that day and for the firefighters and others who will be called in the future to respond to such events.

I’m sure the firefighters, police and others who responded that day got their sense of strength and bravery from varied sources. In my mind that some got it from their religions simply speaks to the power for good that religions can have.
I can only hope
to emerge from the shadows
of towers and wars

you said you would never forget.
sorry for those who lost someone during all that, but like a dead baby joke it needed to be shared.

I have to think that the name for that source is called unconditional love, it can be wrapped in any cover, but I believe that is the name for it. Thank you KG.
very sad. i could only imagine the scene on these planes.
“It's getting bad, Dad. A stewardess was stabbed. They seem to have knives and Mace. They said they have a bomb. It's getting very bad on the plane. Passengers are throwing up and getting sick. The plane is making jerky movements. I don't think the pilot is flying the plane. I think we are going down. I think they intend to go to Chicago or someplace and fly into a building. Don't worry, Dad. If it happens, it'll be very fast....Oh my God... oh my God, oh my God."
As the call abruptly ended, Hanson's father heard a woman screaming.
