Well, I don't know, $1,750 doesn't seem too bad. It'll be a lot more in four days when the auction ends! The AM series has been improved several times over the years, so whether one wants one of the first models - for any price - is also something to consider. But the new ones are significantly more expensive - even the economical Esprit comes in around $6,000. The prices go up, up, up from there.

Bear it mind it is the original AM7, not mass produced APB or TSR. AND you cannot buy any APB or TSR at $1750 either.

What's that an oval chainwheel, or is it just photo distortion, or are my eyes distorted? Doesn't look like it's worth much to me with that goofy geometry - high handlebar much too close to that big fat spring saddle.

i guess 1700 would be the top for them..... The Moulton TSR are are $1995 for a 9 speed and $2195 for a 21 speed ...this is quote i got from a moulton dealer.

I don't follow this type of thing, but I'm surprised by the high price. The seatpost has been bodged, the saddle, stem, bars and controls are not original, the removable cable splitting plate has been, ahem, removed, the brakes, cranks and derailleurs aren't original, there's no fenders or racks...scheesh.

It's probably off to Japan for a rebuild for this example.

(Most of) moulton bikes are equipped with very crappy parts so you'd ditch all of them anyway.
