Bicycle Mechanics - English or Italian threads for 1999 Bianchi Volpe?

I just purchased a 1999 Bianchi Volpe off eBay. I'm waiting for it to ship. I have a 105 groupset that I'm going to put on it, and I am wondering whether the bottom bracket shell is Italian or English threaded. If I had to guess, I would say it is probably Italian threaded, but I'm not sure. I recently got a 2004 Bianchi EV3, and it's BB shell is English threaded (I had an Italian threaded BB waiting for it). I believe only Bianchi's Reparto Corse frames got this change to English threads in the last few years, but I'm not sure.

Just want to figure this out so I can get an Italian threaded 105 BB for my Volpe if necessary (I have an English BB this time).

I'm not sure about the Bianchi, but whatever you do, don't buy the BB before you get the frame........like I did :(

I didn't know that the Italian BB shells are slightly wider, which means (at least in the case of Shimano) that the same width axle has slightly less clearance on the drive side of the axle.

So, I "cleverly" put the 110mm BB in, rammed on the cranks, and the inside chain-ring started scratching the crap out of my new frame.

I'll bet it's English, I was a Bianchi dealer in '99 but I can't remember for sure...call a Bianchi bike dealer. They, in turn can call Bianchi customer service at the U.S. distributor and get the info........

Just saw Fat Hack's post. He's right...other than the English/Italian thread issue, you'll need to figure out the proper bottom bracket axle for the type of crank (double/triple) that's going on this frame so that it lines up properly on both sides of the frame (right for proper chain line, left for crank arm clearance).
Best to wait till you get frame.....
