Mountain Biking - My New 2010 Giant Rincon

After a lot of research and debating among myself, I came to the decision to buy a Giant Rincon. I went to VeloCity Pro Cycles in Tuscaloosa, AL to get an idea of what size I would need. They didn't have a medium so the guy said he would have one built for me so I could try it. I went back the next morning and there it was. The guy then told me that they didn't have the 2009 so I was getting the 2010 Rincon. I walked out with it and went straight to the trails at Sokol park. I love this bike. I had a much easier time climbing than with my old Schwinn. My only complaint is that the tires it comes with are way too slick for trails. So I went back and bought some better gripping tires. This is one sexy bike. I highly recommend the Giant Rincon. Great bike, great price. Oh yeah...I will never go back to V-brakes again. The disc brakes are amazing.

Nice one. My brother has an older model with V brakes. It should be awesome with discs. Have fun but be safe.

Nice bike. I ride an older 21spd model Rincon , myself. It has been a good & dependable bike.

It really is enjoyable to ride. Its just too bad its raining the next few days :(

It is my first real mountain bike. And boy has it been a blast riding it in between rain showers. Getting muddy is as much fun at 30 as it was at 10.

I just put a deposit down on the 2010 Giant Rincon W (womens), while they order my size. I am contemplating upgrading the disk brakes though. What are your thoughts, since you've had a chance to ride yours for a while now?! I want this bike to last me a while, and am affraid of the discs warping, or the braking mechanisms wearing out real fast? Any input?

I will never go back to v-brakes. I love my disc brakes. They are a big improvement in controlling the bike in those steep downhill switchbacks. I will admit the take a little time to get used to, but I love them.

Well it does come with disk brakes, but I'm just concerned with them being low end. I guess I'll just have to ride it a while, and maybe next year upgrade if I feel the need. I was thinking hydraulic. We'll see how these do though.

Well here it is! Picked it up yesterday on my way home from work. Haven't even been able to ride it. We've gotten 2 feet of snow. :(

LOL! No, but he likes to go running with it! :p It's a great bike! I'm really enjoying it. I would like to learn a bit more on how to adjust the brakes though. The front one drags constantly.

does anyone know which bashguard i can order or install on my 2010 giant rincon..? am not specific about what specs to look for, the manual doesn't help much or maybe i just don't know what's relevant, etc..
