I've searched the Barnett manuals but am still confused.

I want to pop a Dura Ace 9 speed 11/23 (pn CS 7700) casette onto my 105 rear hub (pn FH5500).

I believe it can be done but am not clear if any special tools will be needed.

Can anyone help here?

It will fit, you need a lock ring tool and a chain whip.

Got it thanks.

Now if I can just find an 11/23 Dura Ace cassette. )-:

Save your pennies and get an Ultegra cass. Nearly as light and half the price. The D/A's have been kinda hard to find anyway
