I like both of these.

The scott has disc brakes, giant hasn't.

Which one do you recommend?

jothebiker-

You've probably already made your decision but I'm chiming in because you don't read a lot about Scotts generally. I have an 09 P3 which has thus far been a fantastic bike. I'm a very experienced cyclist and bike mechanic and own or have owned too many bikes over the years. I was attracted by the overall quality of the Scott, the interesting frame, and by the fact that you don't see one every day. So far over about a thousand miles of dirt road riding and some loaded touring it's held up well. I put fenders on mine along with a rack, lights, SPD pedals, and upgraded the tires to Schwalbe Marathons. (The stock Continental Double Fighters were a source of constant flats). I swapped out the stock handlebars for ones with a slight rise and put on some bar ends. For me it's a keeper.
