Introductions - Hello from the HOT state of Arizona

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi all,
I got back into biking a few months ago after being out of the saddle for several years. I am loving every moment that I am on the bike and am wondering why I ever stopped. :D

On the road by 5am, if I am not then I might die in the heat. Not riding in the evening because of the lingering heat and the job.

Welcome
Just drove through Arizona - Moab, UT to Kayenta to Tuba City to Grand Canyon to Flagstaff to Phoenix to Gila Bend.
Rode just a bit at GC (Tusuyan) and Gila Bend - but it was 105 at 10:00 pm, so didn't go far!
It was 90F at 5:00 am - one HOT state!
Enjoy

Used to live in Tempe, and road my road bike to work often, it was great riding
through ASU campus, then through downtown Tempe, on to the Weather Office,
but the trip home was more challenging at 3:30PM with heat in the 100-120 degree
range. What made it all possible was the shower at work, sponsored by the bike
club at the Utility company building where I worked.

Howdy from the Northland!
We live in Tucson but are currently spending the summer in c-o-o-l Duluth! Do not have to ride at 5 a.m. here! Matter of fact watching the fireworks on the shores of Lake Superior for the 4th, wore a sweater, jacket and wrapped a blanket around us! No kidding!
Will be back in the Old Pueblo by September, just in time to enjoy another month of 100+ degrees!

Well, I spent the morning walking the full length of Torrey Pines Beach in San Diego, and also did some swimming. Hundreds of bikers out riding the beach on old US 101. Temp at 85F is perfection.

Hello, wkrider from a nearby neighbor, Scottsdale. I ride a "bent" on the bike paths, been riding about a year. Know what you mean about getting out early. I can only ride on the weekends this time of year, but I'm out by 5:30 AM.
