im new to road biking, and im really excited, but however there are a lot of abbreviations that i dont know what they stand for, for example

DA = dura/ace
CFR?
OCVL?

please list any that you know of.

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the abbreviations you mentioned mean:

CFR: Carbon Fiber Road (as in road frame).
OCLV: Optimum Compaction, Low Void

STI = Shimano Total Integration

Campy = Campagnolo

ATB = All Terrain Bike

Poseur = Showoff...etc..etc...

HRM = heart rate monitor
BPM = beats per minute

RPM - Revolution per Minute
53/21 gear- Chain in the 53teeth Chainring and 21teeth cog
11-27 - Smallest cog has 11teeth and the biggest 27teeth

TLA - Three Letter Acronym :)
