Wife and I went riding in Fort Collins today. It was chilly and raining a bit.

I'll stick my head out the window and blow towards the west real hard. Temp here right now at 5:30 on my back porch is 48F.

Supposed to warm up tomorrow, though.

A friend of mine is doing a popular century ride in Colorado this weekend.

Do these things get cancelled due to snow?

I'll take the southeastern mountains thank you. We won't have to worry about snow, more than flurries, until Xmas. It's now the best time of year to ride.

It won't be long here either. Up in the Adirondacks we have had frost warnings already. This is our bike club century weekend, today was damp and drizzly but tomorrow is expected to be sunny and in the mid 70's - I am riding it tomorrow.

If the ride is near Denver, the temps are supposed to be in the 70s all week. Even up at Estes Park (7500') the temps should be in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Beautiful day on the front range for bicycling.

Mt Evans and Long's Peak have a new beautiful mantle of white snow. Temp below 75F - but there is some wind.

Finally dropped below 100 here yesterday, gotta love that.
I lived at the 6000' level in the local mountains from 1993-97. Best time of my life.

I'll trade your weather for ours. We've had over 10" of rain in the last 30 hours and Atlanta has had well over 20" in the last 3 days. It's warm though.

It wasn't too long ago that you guys were in a terrible drought and your reservoirs/lakes were empty!

Yes, I will take our weather any day.

Snowing a few miles from here at the same elevation. Forecast to be here by morning. But, should warm and melt most of it. But temps are definitely on the down slide.

I saw picture of the snowfall on the morning news today. It was a sobering reminder that summer doesn't last forever and that I best start looking for my cooler weather riding gear.

Snow arrived as forecast, but was only a few spits and some mixed rain and snow. Now it is +38 and a few sprinkles of rain. But, it is "that time" so although there may be a few burbles it won't be long till the snow is here in full force.

So it was time to get back to Spinning. Did my first class is quite awhile. This was Work.

Normally we don't have many guys in the class. But today one of my fellow spinners brought her husband. He had returned from Iraq just a few hours prior to the class. What a treat to have him back and to have another guy to spin with. Oh yes, he spins to help his cycling.

Its been hot up here in Alberta all summer.Records set etc.Supposed to be another record breaker tomorrow.87f which is 38c.But we are getting lots of nasty winds, something that usually only southern Alberta gets.Getting trees uprooted etc.Over 100 k winds which is 60 mph.alot.Try riding in that, actually had to ride into winds around 40 k other day(25mph)for quite aways, passed quite a few guys on mtb with fat tires and low gears, on my Brompton folder with slick type tires and s/s high gears(76 gear inches).Great fun chokes em up when you pass em on it.Couldnt help myself. But turned off trail after awhile cause didnt want them to see i was bonked.Us old guys are sneaky eh?Actually had to stop to use inhaler for emphysema.

They are predicting up to 12 inches just west of the city, with about 4-5 inches around here. It will melt quickly, but is supposed to make a driving mess out of the morning southern side of the metro area (me).

Mt Evans forecast:

They were just talking about your area on our evening news, NBC I think. They made it out to be a lot more serious. Nice to get a dose of reality.

Yes - the weather news hardly ever happens.

Ain't that the truth! When we drove back from Katchemak Bay Sunday the forecast was for nice weather in the south and then mixed rain and snow the rest of the way. In fact, we had Heavy rain for the first 3 hours, sprinkles for the next hour and either clear sky or high overcast for the last six. Of course we are changing climate so fast the computer models haven't caught up yet so NWS can be excused I guess.

They do that here, too, when it rains in winter. They talk like rain falls here every other century.

Well, I drove up over Berthoud Pass today.
I was a bit disappointed it wasn't as big an adventure as anticipated.
Photo was taken on the return trip.
The road was snow-covered in the morning.

Was interesting, the ride to school this morning was ok, if a bit cool. Ride home was horrid, as temps dropped and rain was falling. I thank the man who invented bicycle fenders. :)

Yeah, the weather forecasters totally blew it.

No snow whatsoever around here. However, a lot of very cold rain.

We've got flooding in GA (after a five year drought) and humidity at 80%. Can't say I'm wild about the snow but my wife and I are ready to move to Colorado. Now I just need a job.
Anyone in Broadcasting out there?
