Hello everyone, I just started riding this past week. I think I'll like it if my 50 year old legs will hold up. I haven't exercised seriously for many years, just walking but not everyday. I would like to get committed to something and I think biking will work. I have some joint issues with my hips and knees, so we'll see. DH has been riding for 4 months on his 40 year old schwinn 10 speed and is up to 40 miles every other day. The health benefits have been noticeable for him. I'm looking to lose a few pounds but mainly firm up and get aerobically fit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am currently riding my daughter's inexpensive 12 year old Huffy 18 speed mountain bike with knobby tires. My husband adjusted it to fit me. I' ll upgrade to a road bike later. Thanks.

Jodie

Welcome to Bike Forums, Jodie. A good bike fit is important for keeping pain-free while riding. If your knees or hips bother you, check the fit again and make some adjustments.
