A nice bit of news with my morning coffee. Incidentally, another Chicago area man who killed his ex girlfriend by ramming his car into hers also got 45 years. Equal justice: Kill a motorist or a cyclist with a car and get 45.

Still, the slug is saying it was an accident. Say anything, then go to jail.

It's good to see the judicial system working as it's meant to. 45 years sounds perfect, you take someone's life
and the system puts you away for life. Should give the driver plenty of time to think about what he has done to
the victim and his family.

CHEERS.

Might also give everyone else plenty of time not to have to live in fear of being wiped out by this particular tosser. With a bit of luck he'll never drive again.

I'm actually surprised at the sentence- I expected 15-25. He'll be out in 15, probably.

I am sure motorists will take notice- hope so, anyways.

Thanks Velocipedio (and ViciousCycle) for posting this (ViciousCycle posted this when it first happened.)

Do you think we finally are understanding that motor vehicles are deadly weapons, or are we all co-conspirators in the denial of motor vehicle addiction?

I don't really expect people to understand (this is the great unwashed we are talking about here), but it may not matter. If Joef*ck Lardbutt is afraid of getting 45 years for getting too close to the next cyclist he sees, it's worth it.
