Last Tuesday, I dropped my cell phone into the sink while I was doing the dishes. I remembered something I read in Popular Mechanics a while back and saved my phone.

1. Take the battery out ASAP
2. Pat dry
3. Let it sit for a couple of days

I took my phone out of the rice this morning and it seems to be working ok. Sorry couch and jsharr, I have not been ignoring you. My phone was in a bowl of rice.

I was bathing recently with my SPAWN kitten watching me and I turned around and didn't see anything and found phone under leg in tub. VOLCANO ERUPTION getting out of tub - ripping battery out, etc etc - took hair dryer to it - lightly -and it came on although the sound was quite faint. That later dried out and all is fine - but for some reason I lost some phone numbers off my phone book - but that is nothing compared to losing a phone I just purchased.

Oh and phone does not go near bathtub with Ming present.
