I've never liked "reality" TV. The main reason it is foisted on the American public so much is that it is cheap to produce. It requires no big actor names, no special effects other than what a basic video editor does, and the people who are on it usually get paid nothing. The only real thing that costs money is the building where the contestants are housed in, and a core soundstage for announcing the winner.

Even gameshows, with just their single stage, cost more money because they have to keep the salary of a big name who is hosting it.

50 years old and have never actually bought a TV.Not a big thing for me.
