Foo - Had a real good weekend

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I went clothes shopping with my wife last night and enjoyed it! (I usually hate shopping)
She insisted since she said that all my clothing didn't fit anymore. When I tried on pants, to my delight, I had shrunk 2" from my waist over the past year (since I took up cycling more seriously)!!! I was pumped! I now wear the same size pants I wore when I graduated HS (I'm now 42).
(she has been pretty happy with me too :innocent:)

Yay! Fun! Congrats on the inches loss!
Went shopping today, and got new pants as well. Can I just say that I HATE women's sizes? It's so frakkin confusing. I'm like, 4 in one brand, 9 (!!!) in another, 2 in another, and 6 in another. WTF. It makes no freakin' sense. I took about an hour trying different sizes in different brands, only to pick out two jeans. I was frustrated, so I went to the mens/boys department. Found a skinny jean in my size in about 15mins because unlike the stupid arbitrary women's sizes, men's sizes have the waist and leg length. It's so not fair.

I read an article that said women will try on an average of 15 pairs of jeans before they find one that fits properly. I have the same problem in that I'll be different sizes in different brands. It's ridiculous! I also recall reading an article years ago about a "scandal" of sorts with C/K jeans. Apparently a particular store was out of size 8, so the factory just slapped a "size 8" label on whatever they had and shipped those out. Later on at some point, the store figured out what happened because the jeans weren't fitting the customers like they should have. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of what ends up at "Down East", "TJ Maxx" and other discount places are mismarked items such as this.
Anyway, I finally managed to find a nice pair of jeans at Buckle, but I had to drop about twice what I normally would. It was worth it though because it made me look taller (I'm 5'4") and made by @$$ look fabulous. My biggest gripe with jeans though is the length. Not everyone makes petite jeans, so shorter people have a tough time. One can't simply hem a pair of jeans with a longer inseam because oftentimes the leg won't have the flare in the right place if you are going for flare-leg or bootcut jeans.

RUOkie, I'm betting that if you went to a HS reunion right now, you'd be one of only a handful of people who could fit into their HS jeans. Congratulations!
Ladies, I have solved my jeans problem by finding one store that sells jeans that fit me and only shopping there. It eliminates my having to drive around to different stores and trying on 50 different pairs before I find a good one.
The correct way to shop for jeans. If you're a woman.

In Couchology, pants are forbidden.

I wear shorts (except when I'm at work) nearly year round here. We have two seasons - hot and not so hot.
