The bike is very clean over all and looks to be mostly original with the exception of tires, hoods and bar tape. It has had some minor touch ups and has also had a minimal tune up to insure that it is in good shape mechanically.
What say you?

I've noticed the Expedition/1000 crowd has been quiet lately, maybe they're all out touring.
Where Otto lives, he's not joking. Right now, speed thrills in NC.

and touring bikes are quickly making a comeback. i used to have people come to me for fixed gear frames, now everyone wants touring frames - eyelets, fenders, and racks. that one already has racks f/r. it would pull, around here, double what it would otherwise. pre-"tricked"

You'll most almost certainly get more than 225 on ebay, but its an earlier one of the 1000's... and therefore slightly less desirable than some of the later years. Most touring types will want lower gearing, front fork braze-ons for lowriders, the third bottle cage brazeons, aero brake levers and a lowrider rack. Lack of these things, while not really a practical limitation IMHO, will bring the price down on resale.
I think Otto is right about touring/commuter bikes coming back into 'vogue' though (woah man, functionality is hip! Who knew?). Miyatas are lovely bikes, I'd hold onto it if it fits and you like it.

You people taunt me. Now, after I have my bike all set up the way I want, the one I was hoping to find (in my size no less) from the beginning happens along. No matter.
kpug - I think anything less than $500 would be a lowball offer. Properly gussied-up and photographed, could go for upwards of $700 - although this isn't the best time of year to get top dollar.
btw - what size wheels?
and what does it weigh as shown?

It has 27" wheels and weighs somewhere around 25 pounds...Maybe 26?

Nice. About 3 pounds less than a 210. :)
Well, I sold a Miyata 610 for $350 through Craigslist with no trouble at all. The 1000 is similar but much nicer, and this one has luggage racks... so really much nicer. I dunno, maybe $550?

You guys are good! Didn't even have to list it...Just a mention in an email correspondence about a different bike. The guy is really exited about it and hopefully he'll show up on C&V.:thumb:
