Classic & Vintage - I'm going to look at 2 Peugeots 10 speeds tomorrow. What do you think I'll find?

They are for sale locally, and are described as 2 men's 10 speed Peugeot bikes in good condition for $75 ea. Any guesses as to what you think they might be?

UO-8's. The statistics are overwhelmingly in favor of them.
Break out the champagne (French, of course) if they're two PX-10's.

Might be UE-8's (UO-8's without any chrome).
I'm guessing they'll have Carbolite stickers.

If the seller pronounces it PooGott, stolen.
I agree, most likely UO8s..........but if they are PX10s, don't be surprised if they are giant 60cm or bigger. Hope you're not under 6 foot tall! ;^))

Well I'm back after looking at the bikes.
Not U-08, not PX-10, and not even road bikes.
Ever hear of a Montreal Express mountain bike? Me either. Made in Canada, Shimano components. Ishiwata 4130 frames though.

Lugged steel mountain bike frames with horizontal top tube and the stem painted to match the frame? That's not bad, not bad at all.

IMHO offer the guy 50 bucks for the both and immediately flip them.

Thats funny, last time I went to look at a peugeot road bike, turned out it was a mountain bike, at least he got the brand right I guess?

I've never seen a bike with only ONE chrome-moly tube (the seat tube, according to the decal). Strange.
But it's a very decent bike, by the looks of it. It's worthy of keeping or flipping, and it's also worthy of many kinds of conversions.

You are aware that it's possible to lose money flipping?

After looking at the bikes this morning, I decided to pass on them.
The bikes were in good shape, and the seller was a nice retired lady. But, I don't have a need for a mountain bike and don't feel I could sell them around here for much more than the $75 asking price.
I see that the seller took my advice and, except for her advertisement title, reposted the bikes with a more accurate description, too.
