So what did he do now besides being all cocky after his mother passed away?
stormed onstage at teh MTV music video awards and stole the microphone out of Taylor Swift's hand and spouted on about something.

Well he was all pissed 'cause he thought Beyonce's video was "better" than Taylor Swift's video, so at the end Beyonce won an award and bought Taylor out so that she could have her "time in the limelight." and whats funny is I usually don't get into this stuff! but it seems like every time I hear the name "kanye west" I hear about some dumb crap he's done!

I mentioned I usually don't get into this stuff, you mentioned that you really don't watch TV, but after watching the video on line you feel the way I do, so I feel better now! :D

So Kanye West feels he is the only person to decide who does a good job with their video and who does not? What a moran.
and yet everyone is talking about it keeping him relevant .

Had to leave the cave to see what this was all about... I can see why she won.
The song and the video are uplifting, and it's not trashy.

I've been a fan of hip-hop/rap/whatever since it started, pretty much, and I have often wondered if there's some sort of curse that goes along with being a successful rapper. Ever since 2pac and maybe even before, everyone on top of the game self-destructs, often spectacularly. Think Eminem, MC Hammer, etc. It's weird.

Q: What did 2pac and a half round of golf have in common?
A: 9 holes, baby!
AFA Eminem, i can't understand why someone would want someone's butt in his face. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycD8XHSFeJo)

Think about artists like Jay Z, RUN DMC, Outkast and LL Cool J. They're much bigger and have lasted with little or no BS.

I could understand it more if it were a daytime soap opera award show. But I guess it's been a long time since the music industry has been about the music.
At least Beyonce handled it with class.

You will care when Cervelo and T. Swift announce their new partnership. The K West will jump on the podium and claim that Bikes Direct has a much better bike, that retails for $25K but they will let you steal at around $8k

Thats because somewhere along the line someone gave them good advise and they took it, the others are doomed to fail because they think they're still in the streets of whatever ghetto they grew up in, or whatever ghetto they wish they grew up in! Yes, some of them a frauds.
I say fudge 'em, want to act like a dick and loose it all? by all means! Go for it! :thumb:

there are exceptions. plus, 'artists' in other genres do it too, C&W, Rock, etc. but i see your point in general...all that fame and money is not always such a good thing....

Ice T, Beasties, Chuck D.
Maybe no longer relevant musically but they went on to do something with their lives.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:
If the music business was a meritocracy, Kanye West would be standing in the unemployment line...because he'd just been fired from Burger King. For the third time.
eminem was doing drugs before he got started, he just can afford good drugs now.

I'm guessing that KW will never have a slot on my CD shelf, no matter how much I might like some future mega-hit.
The guy has no class.
I'm not really into modern country either, but I wouldn't be presumptuous enough to think that what I like personally needs to drive me to take over the stage during an acceptance speech.
Just another example of what we get from the "me me me" thoughts that come from a school system that teaches self esteem at the expense of math and science. I'm sure that KW is sitting in his house calling the rest of the world dummies for not agreeing with him... not even considering that what he did was wrong.
I might actually have an ounce of respect for him if he apologizes publicly.

I'd venture to say that this whole stunt was completely staged. What purpose did it serve, who knows, but it has everyone talking.
FWIW, Kanye is right in a way. Taylor Swift isn't very enjoyable to listen to; all of her songs that have been released on the radio are about her and some guy and why he needs to be with her, or something of that nature.
And her squinty eyes and smug little troll-like grin freak me out.

So is MTV like pro wrestling? If Kanye climbed into the ring I mean onto the stage, took a folding chair from the corner, whacked the referee/presenter with the chair, and took the belt/award from Taylor Swift, would it be his?

Pretty much, yeah.
yup,
on that note, i miss back when pro wrestling was good,
I have been watching lucha libre lately, it can get entertaining.

Heck I can't stand her music. The only person I know who really does is my 7 y/o niece! It doesn't change the fact that what he did was classless! Taylor Swift is what, 19? She looked like a deer in the headlights up there, like she was about to cry. I don't like MTV, I don't like Tayor Swift, but I think a real gangsta needs to take care of Kanye "I love my mother so much that she needed to get plastic surgery and her dying is everyone elses fault" West.

She does kind of suck in an American Idol sort of way, whereas KW's music is pretty freakin' good, but that's still incredibly, enormously rude. I will probably not buy any more of that goofball's music if he keeps acting like a cracked-out Gary Busey or Rep. Joe Wilson.

Man, where's Al Sharpton with the "outrage!"
I didn't catch it, haven't watched MTV since about 1982 because I'd rather imagine the songs I hear.
Once they stopped showing different spacemen, I was outta there.
Scenes like that are why if you go to a blues awards show, no one remembers who won what. Everyone's just there to hear the music.
